2010 Election Full Candidate List (President, Vice President, Senators)

On Tuesday, December 15, The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) issued the final list of candidates, and in effect, narrowing down the large list of “nuisance” candidates to a more manageable list of “viable” and “legitimate” candidates. However, there were many Senatorial bets, including a handful of Presidential bets that cried foul.

Among the many candidates that were cut off was Nicanor Perlas who was running for President, as well as Danton Remoto who has also suffered a double blow to his 2010 plans since his party “Ang Ladlad” was also knocked off the party list nominees for the 2010 elections. Lito Osmeña, who ran for president back in 1998, and who filed candidacy for a Senate seat, was also taken off the final and official list by COMELEC.

Another contentious decision by The COMELEC was the exclusion of Former Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim who was to run as an independent but was set to be included in the Liberal Party’s Senatorial Slate. He was also slated to be a guest candidate for Pwersa Ng Masang Pilipino and Bagon Pilipinas. The disqualification also means that LP does not have a complete Senatorial slate for 2010. Lim is still detained at Camp Crame in Quezon City for his role in the 2003 Oakwood Mutiny.

The following is the final list according to COMELEC, however, they maintained that any of the excluded candidates, who filed for their certificate of candidacy, can still file their appeal.

    Bong Revilla and Lito Lapid.

Something tells me my ballot sheet is going to be a complete blank when I turn it in.

    • As they always say, never leave your ballots blank or the cheaters will fill it for you. But I don’t know how it works with the new system. I was told madali lang daw mandaya with the new system.

My Presidentiable is Nick Perlas and his elimination is being appealed.

  2. “For what manner did Nicanor Perlas who was running for President, as well as Danton Remoto who has also suffered a double blow to his 2010 plans since his party “Ang Ladlad” was also knocked off the party list nominees for the 2010 elections. Lito Osmeña, who ran for president back in 1998, and who filed candidacy for a Senate seat, was also taken off the final and official list by COMELEC.” So, did COMELEC made a wise decision by eliminating these candidacy, because of their moral virtue, or immoral disbelief to the system of COMELEC. Beyond the primary truth that no idea of a whole can be framed without a nascent idea of parts constituting it, and that no idea of a part can be framed without a nascent idea of some whole to which it belongs, there is the secondary truth that there can be no correct idea of part without a correct idea of the correlative whole. There are several ways in which inadequate knowledge of the one involves inadequate knowledge of the other. If the part is conceived without any reference to the whole, it becomes itself a whole – an independent entity; and it’s relations to existence in general are misapprehended. COMELEC somewhat, come into this existence. To possibly make decisions interms of misapprehension.

    Food for Thoughts:
Do you understand where I am coming from.
Confusing isn’t it, or ain’t it. Ahhh, you figure this one out…[...]

    • Twin-Skies says:

As far as I know, COMELEC destroyed what little credibility they had left when they disqualifies Ang Ladlad on the grounds of immorality.

      Fucking pigs.

      • Kai says:

I agree. If COMELEC wants to talk about immorality, shouldn’t they talk about the politicians and their ‘kabits’? I would say kids with these women as well ,though it’s not the kids fault. But hey let’s talk immoral bullshit with other candidates.

  3. I don’t see Risa Hontiveros’ name among the Senatorial candidates up there, by the way.

Central Scrutinizer…just like FZ’s character on Joe’s Garage.

      Nice!

    • Fagen says:

Haha…I knew it!:-) It takes a Zappaphile to know another. I’m certain we could go on and on about FZ. Unfortunately, this isn’t the place for it…but always glad to know there’s someone among the minority who enjoyed hearing FZ constantly make fun of the majority.

      • Fagen,

He was obnoxiously funny, what a sense of humor.
FZ, was also passionate advocate for “freedom of speech” and the abolition of “censorship”.
        And, politically correct.

Glad to know, that your an FZ fan!

      • Fagen says:

        Mario,

You’re absolutely right! FZ was PC! He was neither a Democrat nor Republican, but he hated Republicans more, hahaha. Let’s not forget his disdain for the holier-than-thou as well. His intelligence is unsurpassed in the music industry…and if not for the prostate cancer that eventually took his life, I believe he would have made a damn good politician. Anyone who dug and understood FZ has got to be a cool guy/gal in my book.

In fact, “We’re Only In It For The Money” makes sense when I think about our upcoming elections.

      • Fagen,

He was totally bombastic in his own rights. No one will ever come close to FZ’s originallity, nor replicated by no other. Just what you have said, “enjoyed hearing FZ constantly make fun of the majority.”

Even when he face the representative(s) from congress. They were so impress how eloquent with his speech he delivered to them. To some, was dismayed and could not retort back to his fundamental ways of verbiage. Now, that’s FZ for you.

  6. Rico Dalida says:

  7. Rico Dalida says:

  9. danny says:

to all the presidentiable candidates. wag nyo naman gamitin ang mga mahirap na tao lalo na mga bata sa campaigned ads nyo, nag mumukhang kawawa lalo ang mga taong ito.

    1. Question kay Sen.

    2. Sec. GIBO, saludo ako sa inyo, for me you are the right person to lead this country, ang problem lang your running at the wrong side, marami ang may gusto sa inyo kaya lang di nyo maalis na nakadikit ang pangalang gloria sa inyo at yan ang ayaw ng tao. sana po makita ng tao bilang kau.

    3. Sen. noynoy. sir stop using your parents. Kailangan nyo ipakita sa tao that your capable to lead this country, sa ngayon sir wala kame nakikita na kakaiba sa inyo, mas may salita pa pa si sen. mar roxas kaysa inyo. minsan pina noud ko kayo sa isang debate if im not mistaken, kayo lang ang gumagamit ng kudigo. ang napapansin kasi namin mas mayado po kayo nagtitiwala sa iniwang pangalan ng magulang nyo, sir kayo ang tumatakbo at kung manalo kayo sa inyo aasa ang tao hindi kung kanino man.

Baka pwede pa mag bago isip nyo sir.

  11. it is actually my first time to vote. as a neophyte for this national routine, i admit that i’m quite confused about the candidate who deserves to gain a vote from me. on the other hand, i still want to encourage all the youths to be a wiser one. we may not be as experienced as the others but we all have the power to put up the RIGHT person to be seated in the Malacañang Palace. let’s not be influenced by the colorful ads and glittery words and promises of the presidential candidates; let us be more analytic. i still believe that the youth of today is the hope for a brighter tomorrow. let us join forces in bringing out into being the leader who can be a catalyst of change for a total political transformation in our country.

  12. Palipas Oras says:

I know it’s hard to leave our ballot blank but with the some of the choices that we have especially for the prexy and veep race… PFFFT! They don’t even deserve my vote!

On the other hand, since the election pundits may fill that blank for me, I might choose the lesser evil among all of them! Hahaha!

What my really poor mind could not comprehend is that though we always practice our right of suffrage, many of us still see those people running in the position as a magician who can change the Philippines in the tip of his wand.

  13. shania says:

    • Kai says:

Me too, it is so hard to vote for politicians in the PI, all those EMPTY promises, it is so easy for them to promise you the world, when elected they go…I lied! or they get amnesia. I live in San Juan City and candidates who are running can’t even follow oneway street rules! the bastards! I will just use my ballot for the sake of using it so these A-holes can’t use it. I will vote for the least likely to win :) no actors please, a laughing stock for other countries, to get into politics here you have to be a washed out actor! haaay

  14. Sano says:

May magagawa tayo……

    3. Erap Estrada – Too long to elaborate!!!! TANGA LANG ANG BOMOBOTO SA KANYA. THAT’S ALL!!!!!

BEST CHOICE: (Please do your own research din… sa internet, pahayagan o kung ano man)
    1st best choice: Nicanor Perlas
2nd best choice: Bro. Eddie Villanueva
    3rd best choice: Dick Gordon

  15. Joy says:

    My choice: GIBO.

  16. CL says:

My choice for president is GIBO. Why? Because I’ve read an article about him saying that “DON’T GIVE THE PEOPLE FALSE HOPE”. Which is very much correct. With those 6 words, Gibo convinced me he his rightful for that position.

As posted by danny, sana makita ng tao kung sino talaga si Gibo and not just his position in the administration.

  17. miraching says:

Eddie Villanueva… complete u-turn. Diyos at Bayan.

  18. sandy says:

    My choice: Gordon.

  19. len says:

I’ll vote for Gordon. Naniniwala ako kaya nya baguhin ang pilipinas.

  20. John says:

SENATOR NOYNOY AQUINO WILL LEAD OUR COUNTRY AND HE WILL WIN AS PRESIDENT AND I DO BELIEVE THAT HE HAS THE CAPABILITY TO MAKE OUR COUNTRY STRONGER!! I HOPE SENATOR NOYNOY PANINDIGAN MO ANG SINABI MO!!! SALAMAT BOTONG – BOTO PO KAY SENATOR NOYNOY ANG MGA CEBUANO’s :)

  21. xiang says:

I AM A CEBUANA. I AM FOR GIBO!

  22. solomon says:

    Gordon. Competence and character combined.
