A Greater Responsibility: An Acceptance Speech

August 12th, 2008 at 11:09 am by Nick

This is a start of a vision, a gathering of great and passionate minds, a focus towards prosperity, understanding, and a better Philippines. We push forward because we know that our nation is still clouded in darkness, we can become part of that light, that sheds whatever misunderstanding there is among us and sheds light on the issues that we face as a nation

We, the writers of Filipino Voices, are now beginning a phase, where we truly understand our responsibility, above that of ourselves, and now focusing on the service that we can provide to our nation, to our people.

There is beauty in knowing that we are surrounded by those who care, those who are passionate, and it is this love of our people that unites us. May our voices be heard, may we remain influential, and may we remain relevant and needed to shed light and bring knowledge, so that issues will be brought to the center stage in our discussions.

Thank you for the nomination, congratulations to the nominees, much love for our writers and contributors, thank you to Janette and to all who nominated us — Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!

was there audio in the streaming? All four of us talked after accepting the award.

the gist of what I had to say was that it gives non-political bloggers the chance to be political outside of their respective niches – ala myself and jon limjap.

    congrats nick.
