Finally, the palace found someone to say (aside from themselves) that the president had nothing to do with the fertilizer fund scam.
Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Lorelei Fajardo says they’ve been vindicated, and they’ve expected it to be what Bolante would say—after all they’ve been saying it all along.
She and Gabby Caudio hope this means it would be all over (but unfortunately for them—its a baseless hope).
Even before Bolante faced the senate, there’s been a lot of talk about how this event would be scripted with repeated blanket invocations of the right to privacy, right against self incrimination and other stuff that was already heard in the testimony of Iggy Arroyo before the senate years ago. (ostensibly because they share the same legal counsel)
