Ed Panlilio Now Blogs At AmongEd.org

June 7th, 2008 at 5:40 pm by Nick

Among Ed has a blog. This is the blog that I have been anticipating for quite a while now since the moment that there was actual word of Governor Ed Panlilio blogging, in anticipation because it is Ed Panlilio himself, the Governor from which I hope many more campaigns are based upon. He has been the thorn of traditional politicians in Pampanga, and even with so many attacks leveled against him in just his first year, one just cannot keep a good man down.

His governorship was a result of a grassroots effort, Filipinos tired of being in the prison of our current political system and our current political lords, those who wish to perpetuate the same old politics, with the same old corruption, and with the same lagging results that have seen the decline of what should have been a glorious quarter century for our nation.

Much respect and acknowledgment goes to Bloggers Kapihan, and in as much as there were some bitter words exchanged with the last blog launching, that of Jun Lozada, I think this is an important day in the Philippine Blogosphere, as we are taking a great step towards making the blogosphere more relevant, whether or not we actually agree with the personalities of these bloggers or not.

I won’t dwell much with the previous controversy and the clash of words that accompanied Jun Lozada’s launch, but suffice it to say, I think this was a result of passionate individuals who had their hearts set into these projects. Even if one does not totally support Jun Lozada or Governor Ed Panlilio in these blog launchings, there is sensitivity when so much effort is put into a project of this magnitude.

In any case, Ed Panlilio, is our newest Filipino Blogger, a governor of Pampanga, and may just be the model of our future politics in this nation. Not that we wish all priests to go this route, but we wish for more leaders to take up such a challenge, in the face of such an overwhelming political machine that defines the old politics of our nation. Call it what you will, Traditional Politicians, or plainly TraPos, we’re just damn sick and tired of ‘em all.

I wasn’t there for the launching, but we have a few who chose to live blog the launching of Ed Panlilio’s blog, you can see Tonyo Cruz’s blog, or Noemi Dado’s blog, and head on out to Blogger’s Kapihan as well.

My main wish as of the moment, for the Governor’s blog, is that he shares some great insights into the days leading up to his decision to run for Governor, the days leading up to the election, the behind the scenes look at what happened in the first few days and weeks in office. And I hope he brings to the blog, a personal touch, not only as to what has happened, but as to how he has felt, how he is feeling, and his convictions on many of the issues we face as a nation. Indeed, the governor, must realize, that as he takes on the challenge of blogging, he has also widened his sphere of influence, and the topics he writes about must also reflect this. Indeed, I think this is also his mindset, as he blogs his first post, My First Year in Public Service.

Our advocacy for good governance and responsible citizenship is being implemented slowly but surely. To me good governance is leadership by example. Hence, I invest practically every minute of my waking hours to public service.

Good days ahead for Among Ed, I hope he gives us a few gems of wisdom, such gems which many of our own politicians should probably listen to and heed.

  8. Jowel says:

Panlilio for President 2010! I will support him in Tarlac! Everybody please, its time for a change! Why are those lowlifes in the pampanga capitol keep on hounding him? Isn’t because he is a decent man. He does not play the traditional politics which many still are hung into. Its a shame that people think only of themselves, and their profit! The youth now holds the majority, let us show the our fellow Filipinos who still play in the pen of traditional politics our authentic desire for change! If we do this, we can hold our head high and say to our children and grandchildren, I was there when change happened in the Philippines! I helped with that change!

  9. Earl says:

In my opinion among ed panlilio is aggressive.. he must first serve pampanga and prove that he can be a good leader before he runs for being a president. right now he is the governor of pampanga and i live in pamp. and i cannot see any improvement in our city. He needs more experience in politics and in my opinion running for that position is like process. He should first try running for lower position or stay being the governor of pampanga and improve first the city and prove something.

  10. Elizar M. Montemayor says:

In my observation and investigation Among Ed is a honest person/official. Made a transparency/acountability in every dealings which TRAPO didnot. I pray and hope Among Ed will decide to run for President and I personally campaign for him.
