Fr. Panlilio's running or non-running will not change the world.

And where I heard, this Gov. Padaca is suffering from the same "megalomania" - she is reported to have said she will run for president.

One for Ripley's.

I beg to differ sir.

I would rather have someone lead the country who is pious rather than someone who's not.

I also believe in Theocracy and do not share of your opinions of Iran. The fact that Iran is in poverty is still divided (and I think exagerated by Allied media) and their lack progress is not without basis. When Ahmadinejad became president, he preached to the people to live in austerity and in simplicity (just like he did) as opposed to how capitalist/consumerist countries live. They chose to live simply despite their vast amount of resources.

And in terms of progress, they are the first in the field of stem cell research and can already produce nuclear energy. And some "speculation" of nuclear weapons. (I only consider it a progress in terms of military defense)

Too bad. I was counting on him to run. I'm have mixed feelings about this.

Nirespeto ko siya dahil binitawan niya ang isang position na bihirang bitiwan ng isang tao

At nanghihinayang ako at nagtataka.

I guess, altruistically enough, it is not for Ed to believe in Noynoy's candidacy unless Ed belongs to Cory's so-called "yellow army" or revering fan of Cory's so-called "cory magic" or that he is sympathetic to the cause of Ninoy.

Point is, let not anyone make a fool out of us - if they publicly say they are running for president, then they should - no matter the cost. Besides, he created a lot of now useless publicity.

Quite strictly, when Ed Panlilio says he has given way to Noynoy, it follows he has given way to each and every presidential candidate to include that of GMA's administration candidate.

If this can be accepted, it likewise follows that Ed Panlilio actually does not have a platform of government much less a true, personal vision for this country that would, at the first sight of a man of deceivingly higher moral stature than he does, his own commitment is just as quickly blurred and 'overshadowed'.

This presidentiable is a disgrace and giving politics a bad name.

Fr. Ed, much earlier, stirred a ripple in otherwise calm waters when he signified his intention to run for president.

In fact, there is this whole fuss as well on whether he would have to abandon priesthood in favor of politics or abandon politics in favor of priesthood.

Because he now has signified his withdrawal from the presidential race, all these would remain as historical footnotes of the priest who wants to be president when even his peer groups are against such a plan.

It is time to classify this priest as "highly politicized" and that he better just pay attention now to his spiritual calling by going back to priesthood.

Incidentally, I have just lost respect for priests like him.

A loser gives way to another. Not that they are in the same level. Noynoy can get a substantial vote from the oppositon camp, enough to hand a vitory to Gloria's pet.

Hmmm,
amongst the critics
I see good,
that he has acted with his human brain, for good purpose.
There may be a genuine opposition building, and a chance for a candidate to represent a true majority of voters.
Erap is the main spoiler left.
Fascinating, fascinating . . .
