We, the supporters, volunteers and friends of former Defense Secretary Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro, vow to uphold the principles of POSITIVE CAMPAIGNING this election season. These principles shall unite us and guide us through this adventure that has brought us all together, inspire us throughout this journey, and lead us to victory.
We recognize, we believe, we affirm:
- that we have chosen our CANDIDATE because he represents what is best and excellent in all of us, because he champions our greatness rather than our mediocrity, because he is a visionary of means and not just a dreamer of ends, because we recognize the potential in him just as we recognize the potential in ourselves;
- that our VOTE is sacred. We do not take our vote for granted, for we are aware that millions around the world do not enjoy the privilege of electing their own leaders, and therefore do not have a say in mapping out their own destiny. Our vote ennobles us, reminds us that we can choose, we can decide and we can exercise our freedom to evolve our democracy to greater heights, as we give our full support to leaders who can serve the highest ideals of democracy;
- that this is a CAMPAIGN that does not stop with our candidate, nor does it end on Election Day. It is a deeper movement, a paradigm shift, that calls for the raising of awareness of every Filipino, the enlightenment of our entire race, so that we may pull ourselves out of a culture seeped in negativity and divisiveness, and enjoy the benefits of higher consciousness;
- that we align with POSITIVITY rather than negativity. We focus on our country’s innate wealth, rather than endemic poverty; we choose to be balanced, rather than extreme; we see opportunities in every problem; we are constructive and not destructive; we would rather defend than attack; we do not manipulate or persuade, but we educate; we do not struggle, but we strive; we see the long view rather than the immediate. We choose our words carefully, because through thought, act, deed and speech we convey our compassion, our sincerity and our tolerance, and our capacity to heal our wounded nation;
- that we are in this endeavor because we love our COUNTRY, and we are eager to find our true place in the world. Our sense of country is not limited to just our islands, but to the Filipinos found in every corner of the globe, for the influence of the Filipino is actually planetary. Our sense of “what is Filipino” goes beyond region, dialect and citizenship, and deeper into what we can do for our country, more than what it can do for us, what we can do for the world, than what the world can do for us;
- that the ENVIRONMENT is the most pressing underlying factor behind the exigency of our present cause; that we are the Green Team; that we support Life and never exploit Life; that we shall always consider the preservation of our natural resources, the cleanliness of our surroundings, and the love of Nature in every exercise of our campaign, for it is our positive mindset which is needed to save our planet from irreversible destruction;
- that GOD, or a Higher Power, inspires us in all these things; that the victory of a President is not just prescribed by the number of votes garnered or the efficiency of his campaign, but by the guiding hand of destiny and invisible forces we cannot fully explain; and so we fully align ourselves with this Power, which is embodied in Truth, in Justice, and in Peace, because this is what prevails, and we shall, absolutely, prevail.
SO HELP US GOD.

amen!
He looks like the next President of the Philippines…
Pogi kasi.
I read the words, but it means nothing in the context of real achievement. A vote is not sacred; it is an instrument of civil choice. The campaign cannot be positive when so many are locked in poverty, and can’t hear the message. Positivity that does not focus on poverty is not positive, it is happy-world illusion. Love for your country is great, but understand that your country’s culture accepts wrong over right as a way to do business or interact with others; don’t love that so much maybe. The love of nature is good, but, what, practically, are you going to do about global warming; mushy feelings are not achievement. God granted us free will, and I suggest rather than using a higher power as a motivation or scape goat, people start thinking better.
By the way, what are Mr. Teodoro’s accomplishments as Secretary of Defense?
Joe
If i may add, ask too what his accomplishments were as a 3-term congressman of Tarlac.
We want to know Mr. Teodoro’s solutions to the following:
1. The squatters living in Metro Manila area. Subsisting on the
scraps from the garbage dumps.
2. Solution for rice and sugar deficiencies. Marcos solved the problem during his term. You have no alibis not to have any solutions. Marcos
was an effective problem solver. You are also a thinking man.
3. Minimize graft and corruption in the government. A cancer in our
midst that has already spread in every nook of government offices.
4. The Private Army problem. Most of them are armies of politicians.
How do you dismantle them?
WE WANT CLEAR AND DETAILED ANSWERS. IF YOU DONT KNOW. JUST TELL US!
Hi Paula!
Well written manifesto. Likewise with Jester’s set of Q&A’s.
But you see, every Tom, Dick, and Harry of a presidential bet could easily pander to the crowd and give desirable answers to and proposals on solving the country’s problems.
You could very well appreciate the reality that the present socio-political environment would fail to make the eventual winner account for his promises. And because there is no re-election for an incumbent to review and validate his performance, we would be stuck with an incompetent leader, at best, and incompetent and corrupt at worse. The only constitutional way of removing bad leader is through impeachment and you know how this plays out in the Philippine Congress i.e. numbers game. That’s why, its always best to go back to the resume of past accomplishment as indicator of potential performance.
At the end of the day, the ultimate objective of governance is to give economic progress and social justice. Political rights are not an end to themselves. Look at China. Could you say that the ordinary people are less happy there than Filipinos because they have less freedoms?
I agree, this is why; character , intelligence, values, and integrity, I believe need to take center stage in our vote. Words, plans, platforms and other campaign press releases are easily forgotten when one is elected.
I am all for clean campaigns but I can see nothing good coming out of being the standard bearer of the Gloria Arroyo and the Coalition of Thieves. How is going to control corruption?
that GOD, or a Higher Power, inspires us in all these things; that the victory of a President is not just prescribed by the number of votes garnered or the efficiency of his campaign, but by the guiding hand of destiny and invisible forces we cannot fully explain.
Mark this well people and be afraid; be very, very afraid.
Now they are invoking God’s power to do the hocus pocus for them. Winning is not by garnering votes alone, an invisible guiding hand is going to propel Gibo to the majestic throne. Inay ko po!
It worked for PGMA, why not for Gibo? heheh.
Substitute God with Comelec Commissioner and the intent to cheat is as clear as a cloudless sky.
“hand of destiny and invisible forces” is the operative word. Invisible indeed, but the behind is showing.
An excellent piece of work that reflects the talent and creative thinking of the author.
Except in the introductory statement, examining the rest of the manifesto point by point will show that the challenging thoughts and good ideas expressed by the author are presented in general terms and there is no particular statement or point that would pertain specifically and uniquely to the candidacy of Gilbert Teodoro alone and that which is not applicable to the candidacies of the other presidential aspirants.
Like anyone of us, I too am a supporter of a presidential aspirant who I also firmly believe is the right man for the job just as the manifesto author strongly believes her supported candidate is the right man for the job. And having said my observation regarding the presented campaign manifesto, wouldn’t it help raise the quality of the election campaign to a level never seen before in our country if the supporters and the presidential aspirants will also adopt similar (or even much
better) principles such as contained in this campaign manifesto?
This is such a sad thread. So cynical and full of misguided hate.
Why is it that some of these anti Gibo/Pro Noy peeps seem to have personal issues that need addressing? Why hit him on a very shallow level? That only by his associations. It’s apparent that they are projecting their own insecurities and anger while simultaneously projecting delusions to fill that unhappy hole in their lives that they think can only be filled by Noynoy. Yikes. I wonder when was the last time these people got laid or were affirmed.
Get some therapy, y’all. Your problems go way beyond politics.
jason,
They got you, and your mom as well, shot you full of holes, and now you’re in the ICU, yet still pandering to them? I think you need some psychotherapy yourself.
All and absolutely ALL of the above comments just go to prove that there is so so much to be done… not only in our country, but in all the world, to change the paradigm of negativity! Without realizing it, we keep going back to the Black Force. But then, also without realizing it, we only need to see the need for change into the Positive… and SEEK IT… for us to get there. But we have to see it, SEEK IT, before we can even start to create the White Force.
