I must apologize for this late posting in memory of Ninoy.
Seeing the current state of our national affairs, I cannot but wonder how differently things might have turned out for our nation if an assassin’s bullet did not snuff Ninoy Aquino’s life out 25 years ago.
But Ninoy, in his death, turned immortal and his passing opened the way for Philippine society to be reborn, in a sense.
And as Beniign00 essayed in his video, not much has changed.
Much the same perhaps when Jose Rizal tried to peer into the future when he wrote ‘The Philippines A Century Hence’.
In a way, Rizal himself was also assassinated, and his death also sparked a revolution.
I shudder to think whose life will have to be offered next on the altar of martyrdom to free us.
God forbid that this time a bloodbath of national proportions does not pass.
But we may be moving closer to the brink.
