nevertheless, the palace says u-s philippine relations will remain strong even if the chief executive doesnt meet the next leader of the u-s. misis arroyo will meet the local filipino community in chicago before proceeding to new york for the u-n interfaith dialogue conference. in her last trip to the u-s during the u-s presidnetial campaign, president arroyo failed to meet with senator obama. dureza reveals, misis arroyo was personally invited by the king of saudi arabia to speak at the conference, because of her support for interfaith dialogue all over the world. dureza reveals, only he and trade secretary peter favila will join the president, along with 4 congressmen, for the short trip to the u-s. misis arroyo is expected back friday. dureza says she leaves unfazed despite rumors of destabilization plots, an impeachment case and the jocjoc bolante controversy. prior to her departure monday night, the president held bilateral talks with visiting thai prime minister somchai wongsawat in malacanan. dureza says the 2 leaders discussed trhe prospects of a joint visa for non asian travelling to asean countries similar to the schengen visa in europe, as well as tourism and trade prospects for the region.

During the election campaigns, GMA bet on both sides: John McCain and Hillary Clinton! I think that is why she has been uhmm blacklisted. Most of her Democrat Fil-Am allies were Hillaricrats. But no doubt she will find and establish some connection in Chicago’s vibrant Fil-Am community. No one should underestimate Gloria’s sociopolitical climbing skills.
So what if she meets with Obama or not. The real reason for her trip he’s going is to talk once more with her account managers to recover her placements with failed US investment banks.
