Here’s the complete video of Scott Brown’s Acceptance speech as he wins the U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts that belonged to the late Ted Kennedy, a seat that has been with a Kennedy for 47 years. Scott Brown ran as an independent, because of lack of initial support from The Republican Party. His win will give democrats a loss of one seat in The Senate, a crucial spot which will only give The Democrat majority of 59 votes, one less that is needed to break any Filibuster by The Republican minority.
Health Care was a key issue during his campaign, and he was not expected to win, until just a little over a week ago, when polls showed him surging, and taking the lead against his Democratic opponent Martha Coakley, who was the state’s attorney general. His decisive victory sent a shock to the Democratic Party, by garnering 52% of the votes while his democratic rival garnered a surprising 47% of the votes.
An important message that he made all throughout his campaign, was that the U.S Senate Seat was not beholden to anyone, and that it was the “people’s seat”. [Video is around 10 minutes long]
