What you raise in your last paragraph is what people do when they start going "green". ;-)

cvj, thanks for your usual one-liner (and one-dimensional) insight.

cocoy, I'm sure this 'paperless' office is coming for some of us. Unfortunately not too many people can organise their way out of a paperbag (much less their PC folders, inboxes, and stuff) and therefore will still rely on tree-killing methods to keep on top of things.

To be fair to socialists (the ones that think at least), free healthcare could still work in the Philippines, considering that probably half the population of Pinoys is under the age of 15, which means that such a system will not be swamped with claims any time soon). :D

It also depends on how quickly we can equip these legions of 15-year-olds for foreign employment quickly enough (we need the remittances to fund such a system).

As for the porn part, well, that might be a good thing for Pinoy manhood as well considering that our society now is dependent on Pinays to bring home the bacon (working in semicon factories and marrying rich Japanese men). At least it will keep the new generation of unemployed Pinoy manhood out of trouble.

Well, only socialists think there is free lunch.

the paperless office is coming! i'm not a typical user, sure, but i *hardly* use paper and pen these days. it may take 20 years more. one day, we won't have paper and not because we won't have trees. ok, maybe that too.

seriously now, people think we can have free health care. well i'm all for universal health care too! it's just that you need money to pay for medicine, for equipment, for nurses and doctors, etc. where else can we get money but through taxes?

tuition to go to college? sure. jester was talking about it awhile back. it's great and all. everyone should be educated. but there has to be payback.

there is no free lunch. tit for tat.
