That is a great question, Ding, but my answer is “NO”. Despite other issues that are breaking out, these are great times to be taken advantage of and opposition op-ed writers should continue to fuel the outrage over Le Cirque and the steakhouses.

For the moment, a chunk of power has landed on the laps of the opposition because of steak-and-champagne — why walk away from the opportunity. Similar to what some dude way back decades ago had said, “… what are we in power for?” .

And maybe some good comes out, like realization that MSM investigative reporting and numbers published by EllenT or the Inquirer or ABS-CBN should occasionally be looked at with a grain of salt.

    • We’re almost on the same page. Almost.

Since you took time to give an answer care to expound on where the outrage is coming from?

Where the dinners works of fiction?

      Where the monies spent?

In an election year in a country that is steeped in personality based partisan politics this is a heaven sent.

Now with the ban of TV ads lifted I can just imagine the attack ads versus anyone associated with GMA. This is a made to order attack ad for a country where the main pre-occupation is putting three square meals on the table.

For a government that governs mainly with raising marginal projects as accomplishments through the effective use of the mass media, the same medium is coming back to bite them.

I showed this to my co-worker and he even feels upset when heard about the price of their expensive. He said people spend $20,000 here on weddings only once in their lifetime. The foreign governments might get the wrong impression and conclude that Philippines is so rich the way these so called honorable officials are acting that they will suspend giving aid to the Filipinos. Now those who say that taxpayers money is not involved in these lavish outings, what you got to say? I thought my outrage has ebbed but I am just so disgusted at this food orgy by GMA and company.

I showed this to my Canadian co-worker and he even feels upset when he heard about the price of their expensive dinner. He said people spend $20,000 here on weddings only once in a lifetime. Now those who say that taxpayers money is not involved in these lavish outings by a bloated presidential contingent, what have you got to say? I thought my outrage has ebbed but I am just so disgusted at this food orgy by GMA and company.
