So I have several questions:
- Is the Police a glorified Mercenary Force, at the beck and call of anyone with influence, money and power? Pay them off and they’ll side with you?
- When the Government has an axe to grind, are they tools, the right fist that it swings?
- Why is the police showed in such a bad light in the Failon case when normally they would have been the instrument of justice?
- Would you call the police if you were in trouble? If you can’t trust that Justice be done, what happens to such a nation-state?
- Do you find Police to be… incompetent? Not just with this Failon Case but with Kidnap for Ransom cases, with Murder, with Rape with petty crime and so on. And if so, maybe it isn’t an issue of trust. Maybe we just don’t respect the Police.

Would have require the bullet to hit one of the bathroom walls and then ricochet before settling into an area. A .38 caliber gun fired at close range at someone's head would exit to the other side of the head. In a small space such as a bathroom, the law of physics will apply. Granting that the SERVANTS cleaned the bathroom, there's no way they can retouch and repaint the wall in so short of time. The absent of a ricochet mark can be concluded that the shooting did not take place in the bathroom.

From what i understand, the police weren't immediately involved. it took a phone call from the hospital to get the police involved. Why did that happen? i suppose it *could be* an intense situation that no one had the presence of mind to get the police involve— or they really didn't think the police should be involved in a shooting like that. which could mean that it really was suicide. Maybe no one trusted the police to do the right thing you know?
I'm pretty sure the Police needed to rule out that this was murder but the way the situation was handled by the police— man, i don't think the public will ever get to say one way or another that this is an open and shut case.
A couple of years ago, a taxi cab I was riding along coastal road was hit by a wheel that came off an 18-wheeler truck. 5-6 police officers came in, looked around like dumb-ass spectators, never bothered to ask if anybody was hurt, never bothered to decongest and ease the flow of traffic (I guess that type of duty was above them). One police clown told me " Sa tingin ko accidente tong nangyari" Incompetent Retards would be the best way to describe our COLLEGE GRAD Philippine Law Enforcement personnel

1. Dial the PNP
2. Deposit the victim to the nearest PNP station
3. Deposit the gun or weapon used
4. Submit to paraffin test
5. Ask for handcuff
6. Request for mobile car to the detention cell
7. Believe all the legal theories of the PNP as gospel truths
8. Inform foreign embassies of your hold-departure order
9. Bring the whole household
10. Never mind if everything else left are looted
If my wife commits suicide, is bleeding and head busted, here are my guides:
1. Bring her to hospital
2. Will not leave her side
3. Ask hospital staffs to call police right away (if they don't know what to do)
Reasons: (not in this order)
1. So the police can go right away to scene and secure evidence/s
2. So everybody will not doubt me
3. So there will be no speculations
4. So there will be no tampering with evidence
5. So I can concentrate on the problems at hand
6. So I and my living members of my family will not be treated as suspect
According to news reports, both Ted and Trina tested negative for gun powder residue. So the question of suicide or patricide remains.
No matter how it ends, it's really a tragic story.

Yes, I have no other recourse, I will still call the police. In Ted Failon's case, the police is suppose to find out what really happened. Statements from Ted, the housemaids and the relatives have no bearing until the hard pieces of evidences are gathered and evaluated. But the police was faced with a big problem – the place was cleaned up. Now, what do you expect the police to do? Of course, go after those who cleaned the place up.
discrediting the police and the other elements of the judiciary system is one defensive tactic that works in the philippines, that's why you see it being employed here. the thing is, the cops will still have to be involved with this kinds of cases, they are part of the paperwork whether you like it or not.
and yes, the philippines is a gotham city without batman and the supervillains. thing is, there is a possibility that villains like joker could exist because they don't require any superpowers. also, a rich guy is more likely to turn up as lex luthor rather than batman.
Our Police force remains to have a very weak sense of morality in respect to determining between right and wrong. This is Police immorality. Circumstances where police officers could find themselves in questionable ethical situations relate to friends, acquaintances, relatives or other police officers and conflicting interest of power. These may be in four different categories of corruption, based on their nature or grounds of attachment, personal problems, procedure (process), and the handling of valuables. Preventing police officers misusing their power requires mainly education, training and discussions among police officers on ethics.
In this case, our police force lacks the proper procedural process during an investigation. Increasing supervision and support by the supervisors, improving procedure and processes during investigations, procedure in selecting police officers, increasing disciplinary measures, and improving police work environment should be implemented not only by the police together with legislators and the PUBLIC personalities for this country. Police Morality requires strong leadership , budget for training and recruiting better ones. When addressing what the chief command of the police could do to facilitate morality within the police force is ALWAYS to set a good example that education and introduction should be increased, and that the supervisors should take more initiative than now in monitoring their own personnel.
When the country has no strong foundation at the top, the bottom will never exist.
